Part of a series of globes created from my walks across Lydstep Point here on the Pembrokeshire coast. An area with incredible rock formations that fall into the ocean with views across to Caldey island. Look in detail at the rocks and you will find the most incredible lichen growing in impossible surroundings. This globe has a a base stoney grey glaze with overlays of aventurine, with copper, iron, and black oxides fusing and cascading from the high temperature firings. Random strata lines in black oxide cut across the globe which is finished with platinum detailing.
Fine bone china Sea Globes are handmade in my studio here on the Pembrokeshire coast. Their design stems from the Pembrokeshire coast where I live and work, capturing the essence of the dramatic landscape and ever changing scenery we experience here throughout the year.
