Sea Urns were first designed and developed in 2018 in my studio here on the Pembrokeshire coast as a development of Sea Globes.
Made from earthenware clay, with hand thrown lids and sculptured fronds with a resemblance to sea anemones, each Sea Urn has a unique style of glazing.
Splash Sea Urns are created using my unique glazing technique inspired by Jackson Pollock. Multi-coloured glazes thrown across the globe and lid reflects the fun and frivolity of the British seaside resort using colours inspired by ice-cream, candy floss, deck-chairs, blue skies and sandy beaches whilst combining this with the rugged movement of the ocean.
The piece is initialled on the base.
