Created as the centrepiece for my gallery in the harbour village of Saundersfoot this piece is now released for sale. Hand coiled in my studio here along the Pembrokeshire coast this large vase has the beautiful touch of a hand coiled piece of work - a slight ripple in the texture along with multiple overlapping glazing has resulted in a stunning finish.
Glazed in dark aventurine, blacks, coppers, and stone colours the piece has a textured rim that has been finished with gold detailing.
The piece was completed in 2018 and has a full signature on the base.
*The piece has been made as a sculptural centre piece but could be used as a functional vase. However, as it is made from earthenware clay which has a porosity even at high temperatures, it is recommended that if used as a vase with water inside protection is placed underneath for any surfaces it sits on as condensation may cause marking.
